It is a free tool that reads an ingredient list and tells you whether it contains the allergens you chose. You paste the text from a food label and get a result for each allergen, with the reason.
How do I check an ingredient list for allergens?
Choose the allergens you want to avoid, paste the ingredients from the label into the box, and press Check allergens. The result lists each allergen you selected as found or not found.
Which allergens can it check?
Gluten, lactose, nuts, shellfish, eggs, soy, fish, corn, sesame and sulfites. You choose which ones apply to you, and the website remembers your choice in your browser.
Is the allergen checker free?
Yes. The website gives you two free checks per day. The Ingredify app for Android and iPhone goes further: you point the camera at the label instead of typing it.
Can I scan a food label instead of typing it?
Yes, in the Ingredify app. Open it, tap Check allergens and take a photo of the label. The app reads the text and checks it against your allergy profile.
